Sneaker collaborations are nothing new, and in fact seem to be picking up a lot of steam. Seems every blog and boutique is getting their own collab with Nike, Reebox, or Adidas lately. The sneaker companies are much more interested in reaching down to the street level and making more limited runs to fuel the fire driving the sneakerheads out there than ever before.

Sick Shoebox

One of the latest releases in this trend is this 3 way collab between boutique Solebox, the formally Dame Dash employing Pro-KEDS and the luggage maker Rimowa. Lots and lots of hot sneakers have been released. Even one or two with some special fancy packaging. The Nike/Hasbro collabs come in toy boxes, and the Blue Lobster Dunks came in a hazmat container. But nothing like this. If you were wondering “Why include a furniture maker in the collaboration?” just check out the “box” these Pro-KEDS come in.

It’s a clear topped fully functional trolley style suitcase, complete with extending handle, with fitted foam cushioning surrounding the sneakers inside. This is the king of all shoe boxes. The Pro-KEDS themselves are cool- a nice fresh take on the classic low-top Chuck Taylor, but the box is what really the sought-after item here. Especially since production is limited to only 25. This would be the ultimate crown in any sneakerhead’s collection of boxes without a doubt. No release date has been announced just yet, but good luck tracking down one of these bad boys. It won’t be easy.
